Murroon School Honor Roll

….”On the 12th (December, 1919) a welcome home will be accorded to several Murroon and district returned soldiers, when a concert and dance will be given in the hall. On the Friday following, the  19th, an important event will take place in the unveiling of the honor board, purchased by the school committee. It contains the names (26 in number) of all soldiers who have been taught in the local school at any time, as well as other district soldiers. The board is to be hung in the local State school. The unveiling ceremony will be performed by the Federal member for the district. Mr. Mc Donald, M.L.A. has also promised to be present. The board has been photographed, and the committee have decided to present a photo, to all those whose names are on the board or their relatives……”   Geelong Advertiser, Wednesday 3 December, 1919.
