PUTTING FACES TO NAMES ON THE HONOUR BOARDS

It is the aim of this project to capture not only the memorials and honour boards across the Surf Coast Shire but also to identify each and every name.

Sadly there are many gaps because of common names identifying a number of people in the Shire or because possibly a nick name or middle name was used on the honour board making it difficult to identify that person.

While you may not know for certain the identity of the person, contact us anyway – it is always worthwhile to follow any lead through.

As you go through the long list of names on the honour boards and memorials you will find many are faceless. We would love to collect photographs of those featured on the website. If you have or know of a photograph of a person from the Surf Coast Shire who served in WW1 please send us a copy to post next to that person’s name.
